Let’s take a look at 4 Recycling Companies, doing an incredibly good job and see what we can learn from them:
If you haven’t done so already take a look at the post „Recycling e-Waste – What We Can Do to Help“ to find out more about e-Waste and the problems and possible solutions around the topic.
While a lot of us still have some catching up to do when it comes to recycling e-Waste, there are some projects that are doing their best to protect our earth and educate people about recycling right now.
If you know about other initiatives – please post in the comments!
ERTH – e-waste recycling in Malaysia
About: „ERTH (E-waste Recycling Through Heroes) buys all kinds of end-of-life personal electronics such as PCs, laptops, smartphones, etc. for recycling. We offer a free pick-up service by thousands of Heroes and pay higher prices for your e-waste than public recycling centres due to our unique accelerated supply chain from consumer to recovery.“
Envirosafe Rwanda Green Part

We partner with individual collectors such as yourself, as well as major consumer product companies, retailers, manufacturers, municipalities, and small businesses across 20 different countries. With your help, we are able to divert millions of pounds of waste from landfills and incinerators each month.“
EWaste Africa – recycling lightbulbs

E-Waste Africa prides itself in hiring and building teams centred around making an impact in sustainability, always striving to achieve a zero waste to landfill vision for numerous waste streams.“
As we can see there is still a lot that needs to be done. But we can start by making some changes and really looking at what we’re using and why and how we’re disposing of it.
In Germany TerraCycle is collecting pens/biros, so I’ll start collecting old ones separately an to ship them to TerraCycle once a year. I’ll also see if there are more options in Berlin, so that I can do my part to reducing waste. If you know of any great initiatives, please share in the comments!
